Aodin

Aodin is an exceptional property on a 4000 acre farming and shooting estate in Strathtay. Farragon, sits to the north of the property. If you enjoy hill walking, you can reach Farragon on foot from the lodge.

This stylish and sophisticated lodge sleeps 10 and has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment which has included large extensions and a complete makeover by Julie Campbell at Thebe Mor Interior Designers.  The end result is truly outstanding and we are beyond excited to be re-launching this luxury lodge for summer 2025.  Anyone who stayed in the previous incarnation of Aodin will find this transformation truly mind blowing and we cannot wait to hear your comments.

Aodin now sleeps 10 guests across 5 en-suite bedrooms. Four of these bedrooms are on the ground floor and the master bedroom is up on the first floor, along with the sitting room. The stunning kitchen/dining area is on the ground floor and has doors opening out to the patio and garden. The entrance hall is a beautiful, welcoming space with a gorgeous piece of art work by local artist Zanna Wilson. From here there is a second staircase taking you up to the TV Snug. There is also a separate utility room and a WC on the ground floor.

The huge sitting room has 3 seating zones and is a bright and airy space.  The feature Apex window gives the most breath-taking views of the Tay Valley and surrounding hills.  There is a wood burner with comfy sofas at one end of the room, and at the other end you will find a table for cards and board games along with a hidden bar with built in wine fridge and everything you need for pre-dinner drinks or a nightcap by the fire.  In the centre is that incredible view and beautiful sofas and chairs where you can while away the hours with a good book or just enjoying one of THE best views you will ever find in a Perthshire holiday rental home.

The Dining Kitchen is another space designed to make the most of the view. There are doors opening out on to the patio and garden.  The kitchen is very well equipped and has range cooker, 2 dishwashers, large fridge (freezer in the utility room) wine fridge, microwave and boiling water tap. There is a beautiful collection of china and cutlery from The White Company,  a vast selection of glasses and ample pots, pans and serving dishes.  The separate utility room has large capacity washing machine and tumble dryer, freezer, ice machine and drying pully.

The master bedroom has a large private balcony with glass balustrade, offering the perfect spot for your morning coffee or yoga session!  The en-suite has a roll top bath, walk in shower and double wash hand basins.  The luxurious velvet, king size bed has views of the Tay Valley.

The remaining 4 bedrooms are on the ground floor and all have ensuites.  Bedroom 2 and 3 have zip and link beds which can be made as twins or super kings as required.  Bedrooms 4 and 5 each have king size beds. Every bedroom has its own distinctive décor and the beds and bed linen are of a luxury standard.  Sumptuous towels and bath robes are also provided, together with Laura Thomas toiletries.

Every single room and space in this gorgeous property simply oozes luxury and style.  Throughout the property you will see original art work and exquisite attention to detail.  You will be left in no doubt that it has all been beautifully designed and brought together by a very talented and creative team.

Aodin sits on the Edradynate Estate which has fishing rights on the River Tay. Fishing is available at an extra cost (by prior arrangement).  Game bird shooting and clay shooting are also available by separate arrangement – please call Ian Smith, the head Keeper on 07788922949 for details. The estate is also home to Alice Miller Pilates who offers private hire of their wood burning sauna and plunge pool as well as one to one Pilates sessions, retreats and breathwork. Aodin sits high on the hill overlooking the Tay Valley but is just a short 15 minute drive to the town of Aberfeldy. Aberfeldy has a wealth of shops including a large supermarket, McDonalds butcher and bakers. You will find plenty to see in Aberfeldy with gift and craft shops, an award winning book shop and cafe The Watermill and lots of places to eat. 

Also in Aberfeldy is a petrol station, medical centre, dentist, vet,  ATMs and a Post Office. 

If you’re looking for an active holiday, there is a wide selection of outdoor activities on offer. If you enjoy golf, water sports, fishing, walking, cycling, white water rafting or even bungee jumping – Aberfeldy has it all!

Nearby are numerous castles and distilleries, a community owned cinema and a Theatre. There are various festivals and music events throughout the year.   

Finally, the village of Grandtully is just a 5 minute drive away. Grandtully has a small Post Office and shop, The Highland Chocolatier, The Grandtully Hotel by Ballintaggart and The Inn on the Tay bar and restaurant. Also in Grandtully are the famous Grandtully Rapids – used for canoeing events, Olympic trials and white water rafting.
