Sona Brae is a modern luxury lodge on the new development on the outskirts of Aberfeldy. The lodge sits in an elevated position taking advantage of the beautiful view. There are 2 bedrooms, a family shower room and spacious open plan living area. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There is also a washer dryer. The sitting area has comfy sofas and a log burner with large patio doors opening on to the furnished balcony. The master bedroom has a king size bed and fitted wardrobes. The twin bedroom also has fitted wardrobes. The family shower room is spacious and has a large walk in shower. There is parking for two cars outside the lodge.

The lodge is the perfect place for a break or family holiday at any time of year. The log burner is perfect for cosy evenings in and in the summer, step out on to the furnished balcony to watch the sun set. This beautiful part of Highland Perthshire has so much to offer, from water based activities at Beyond Adventure, just over the road, to the brilliant new Scottish Crannog Centre in nearby Kenmore. Strathtay Lodges are located in a very convenient spot on the edge of Aberfeldy and there is a footpath from the site all the way in to town which takes about 10 minutes. Opposite the lodges you will find the brilliant Beyond Adventure activities company. They offer a wide range of water crafts such as canoeing, SUP, kayaking, as well as E-bike hire and guided tours.

You will also find other activities such as white water rafting in the town. Aberfeldy benfits from a wonderful selection of cafes, bars and restaurants and a comprehensive mix of shops including a Co-op supermarket, Asda petrol station, award winning bakers, butchers and various independent delis and takeaways. One of the things we love to support in our town is the community cinema which offers all the latest movies as well as live screenings. You can even get a drink from the bar and take it in to the movie with you! We are lucky enough to have a great leisure centre in town, The Breadalbane Community Campus, which has an indoor pool, climbing wall, gym and various other facilities.

Needless to say, there are an endless number of options for walks in the area and one not to miss is the famous ‘Birks of Aberfeldy’ with its stunning waterfalls. Take a look at our The Area page for lots of useful links and ideas for things to do during your stay.

In nearby Kenmore, you will find The Hotbox at Taymouth Marina and there is also a great little beach on Loch Tay which is perfect for picnics and paddling.
